Chaucer Court Apartments are located in the boundaries of the Portland Downtown Neighborhood Association, one of Portland’s oldest neighborhood associations, formed in 1977 to improve the livability of the central city. We are also part of the Neighbors West-Northwest, a coalition representing 8 Northwest and 4 Southwest Neighborhood Associations that includes one of Portland’s most varied sections. Everything from heavy industry, commerce, residential communities, beautiful natural areas and riparian habitats.  These associations help create a better quality of living and harmony in our thriving urban community.

Our ideal location in the heart of the city makes daily conveniences easily accessed. Just outside our doors you have several choices for Public transportation: two Tri-Met’s bus lines the 15-Belmont/NW 23rd and 51-Vista, the Portland Street Car, and Tri-Met’s Light Rail (MAX) the Blue Line  and Red Line. Just a few minute’s walk down 10th street sits Portland’s 125,000 square foot Central Library, which has the capacity to hold 725,000 books – a readers paradise! Nearby you can find unique and amazing coffee shops to enjoy – Case Study Coffee Roasters, Water Avenue Coffee Company, and so many more. If you don’t feel like eating at home, your nearby dining establishments are endless – for example Addy’s Sandwich Bar, Lardo, and Pastinito name just a few.

You can shop for groceries and get your prescriptions filled at Safeway, Trader Joe’s, World Food’s Portland, and Fred Meyer. Entertainment is plentiful, educational, and diverse. Take a short stroll or hop on public transportation and visit the oldest art museum on the West Coast – The Portland Art Museum.
