Chaucer Court’s Affordable Retirement Community offers 83 Studio and One-Bedroom Apartments. Located on the corner of Southwest 10th Avenue and Salmon Street in downtown Portland, Oregon. Our ideal urban location is near the library, public transportation, shopping, restaurants, medical and dental care, and many other helpful resource agencies.

Chaucer Court Apartments were originally built in the 1920’s and have been part of the National Register of Historic Places since 1980. Its Late Gothic Revival style was designed by architect Ernst Kroner. Chaucer’s striking character and style still remain, including the original terra-cotta lanterns, extensive steel windows, beautiful marble staircase, and stained glass window over the building’s entrance.

Chaucer Court’s Board of Director’s the Union Labor Retirement Association (ULRA) was established in 1962. Through their many years of dedication and commitment, six retirement communities have been developed in the Portland-Vancouver area offering homes to more than a thousand seniors. Chaucer Court, their most recent community, underwent major renovations in 2011. This exceptional building and affordable senior living community continues to be an impressive landmark in downtown Portland, Oregon.
